Seagrass Meadows

This animated educational video focuses on the importance of ‘Seagrass Meadows’ and was created as part of the communication campaign of Ocean Biotech - A European Union funded research project.

We usually think that rainforests are the most productive ecosystems of the world. But not many of us know that our underwater forests which have evolved from terrestrial plants are now colonizing the oceans.

In this animation we explore the important role that seagrasses play on the survival of all marine life, how they affect our ecosystems and the ways that they can be utilized by scientists. And there is still so much to be discovered!
